        Union Carpenters & Millwrights Masters of Their   Trade

Carpenters & Millwrights Local 144 is Always Looking for a Few Good Men & Women

What We Need From You

1. A Journeyman Craftsman with 5 years Industrial/Commercial experience in the trade of Carpentry or Millwrighting.

2. A craftsman that has his own tools and takes pride in his work.

3. A dependable worker with reliable transportation and good work ethics.

4. A drug free individual able to pass a drug test before being accepted as a member and on every job site if a test is required.

5. Must have a Drivers License and Social Security Card .

ARE YOU A WELDER?

Are you certified or capable of being certified?

There is much demand and work for a skilled craftsmen who can also weld.

If you are not certified and wish to become a certified welder we have an AWS Certified Inspector available for instruction and certification of members.

Class dates vary from month to month but are always held on Tuesday nights. Check our calendar for the dates.

These wages are applicable in the Local 144 area only. Rates and wages change from one local territory to another. You are paid by the scale negotiated in the area in which you workat a Union Job. In some areas, Atlanta for example, wages are increased by the amount of training you have choosen to take .

We want you too. You are our Future. Our Apprenticeship program offers all the benefits that are available in the journeyman program. We train you in the skills of the craft of your choice. Meet the Union Carpenter

You might want to be a carpenter if- -
you enjoy working with tools -
you like to see your work produce immediate results
and you want to be a member of one of the oldest and most respected trades in the world.

The Union Carpenter is a skilled craftsman who can work on the finest intricate design on a piece of furniture to building a cooling tower 500 feet high for a power generating plant. He can build a house for his own home or a bridge that spans the Mississippi River. He is skilled in all aspects of the carpentry trade.
The union Carpenter works hard and takes pride in his work . He has learned to work smart and safely. He is resilient, resourceful and reliant. He has his own tools, provides his own transportation and takes pride in his Union and his work.

Meet the Union Millwright

millwrights You might want to be a millwright if -
you like to work with machines,tools
and precision instruments, you have a keen eye for the perfect fit
and want to be a member of an elite group of construction workers who work primarily in metal and with machinery and equipment requiring precision.

The Union Millwright is ready to travel he works on all robotic conveyor systems, in Nuclear Plants and on all industrial equipment in between. He has mastered turbine engines whether they are steam driven, gas fired, nuclear or fossil fuel powered. He works on oil rigs in the Gulf Of Mexico and in Alaska. He has been trained by the UBC to work safely and with skills that are constantly being upgraded by training that is offered thru the U.B.C. and the Local Unions.
